Description

Alan wrote a surprisingly entertaining rhythmic funk score for his very first movie. Especially when you take into account that he was only 21 years at that time and had no experience at all with writing film music. The score can be compared a bit with The Mack, although The Doberman Gang has that definite 70s sound to it.

Unfortunately this Japanese LP single (45 rpm 7'') only contains two songs from the movie written by Alan and Bradford Craig. "Dog Honest Gang" is a kind of a comical country song sung by Bradford Craig (the LP single incorrectly credits Alan as the singer). It is featured several times in the movie when they train the dogs. "Someone" sung by Mercedes Hall is a more slow romantic song of average quality that is used for the romantic scenes in the movie. So unfortunately musically this release isn't very interesting. A score release would have been much more interesting.
